The vision and history of S-Solar is built on the conviction of solar energy as an ecological and commercially sustainable energy source. The company has its starting point in Sunstrip, a subsidiary of S-Solar, and has during the last decenniums developed technology and solutions for solar thermal energy for heating and cooling.

The technology provided by Sunstrip, today leading global patents, is based on advanced thin film technology with superior performance and durability. The technology has been continuously enhanced and new generations of products have been developed used by a large number of solar energy companies in more the 20 countries around the world.

During 2007, Sunstrip was acquired by an investment company, Earthsun Technology, with the objective to build an internationally competitive company. A number of investments have been made in new technology, an extended product program, increased production and delivery capacity, and an international sales organization. In 2009 the new brand of S-Solar was launched as a new platform for expansion.
