Close to Helsingborg, a city in the southern part of Sweden, the elderly home Borgvalla has during 2008 been refurbished. As a part of the refurbishment, a solar heating solution was installed to improve energy efficiency and provide clean energy. The installation includes 40 m2 of solar collectors as an integral part of the roof using large collectors of 10 m2 each.

The system operates in cooperation with gas heating and heat pumps as an integrated heating unit. The installation has been problem free and the efficiency has exceeded expectations.
