Multifamily buildnings

Can solar collectors work in your building? The answer is yes!  Many owners of buildings are today installing solar heating and cooling to reduce the dependency of fossil fuels and central heating.

Several countries in Europe have installed block and district heating to provide an entire area with solar heating and cooling, using solar collectors and tanks of 1000’s of m3. This enables a cost efficient and clean energy for the building and the area.
The only thing that differs from an installation in a single family house is the size of the collector and the installation. The same technology and principles can be applied. The size of the collector is driven by;

  • The available space for setting up a collector
  • When is the solar heat needed?
  • How does the boiler room look like?

The answers to these questions will decide how much storage capacity that is needed. These parameters are important when the configuration and sizing of the installation is done.
